My knitting story started when I was sad, more than sad… Disappointed, in poor health and lost. To cut a long story short… I graduated from the university with honors, but had no idea if teaching was actually what I wanted to do in my life. This same month after graduation I was diagnosed with chronic kidneys inflammation that required regular courses of antibiotics. I was always active, teaching pilates classes in the local fitness studio, running, walking, but after finding out about my kidney problem, I broke. Completely. So here I was, no idea what to do with my life, fighting kidney inflammations and looking at a grey winter sky covered in smoke from the industrial plants scattered all around the town. I was sad. Feeling useless. For months and months.

Annelies

Annelies

Hi, I am Annelies, married to Bert, and mother of 2 sons : Vic and Arno. (this explains my brand name "Vicarno Crochet Designs")

I love designing shawls and garments : shawls are versatile accessories and they are fun to design and to make as well. As for garments, I am aiming to design topdown and seamless designs that have a great fit and are trendy and comfortable to wear.

Francoise

Francoise

My name is Francoise, but please feel free to call me Frenchie. I'm a Franco-Maori American-Australian living in Japan, slightly obsessed with anything under the Disney brand (especially Marvel and Star Wars) and all things handmade.

My mission is to evolve, and to grow. Right now, the way I'm doing that is enabling magic-makers and fiber-lovers (like you!) to transform yarn into unique handmade pieces that you can be delighted and empowered by.

Junko

Junko

Junko Okamoto is a young knitting designer originating from Japan. As a child she was fascinated by her grandmother, who was always knitting.  She is inspired by vintage clothes and style that is very often reflected on her designs. Her designs are far from being classical in shape or construction, but they are always inspired by the yarn qualities. Junko is also the first knitting designer who saw the potential in Moeke Yarns and created amazing pieces that make our yarn shine.

As a young designer, she recognizes the power of working together - she teamed up with two other talented Japanese designers and they founded a design team in collaboration with the Japanese yarn shop Eylul. You can find Junko on Ravelry and can join her two groups: Family Designs by Junko Okamoto and Lul_blossom. Make sure to follow her Instagram feed for news on upcoming designs!

"sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

-Lewis Caroll, Alice in Wonderland-

A few years ago I discovered crochet and since that time is a world opened up for me . Always being busy with making stuff and tried many things but nothing could fascinate me as long as some yarn and a hook. There seems to be no end to the possibilities! This is also what I love to do most , explore what can and is possible with different materials and different techniques. I have a weak spot for natural materials  so most of the things I make/design are with natural yarns, the texture, the way they work out, who can resist?

Puk

Puk

My name is Puk Vossen and work full time as a teacher, designer and social media manager voor wool stores and designers. Since 2007 I teach knitting- and crochet classes in The Netherlands.

Susanne

Susanne

Having a background in Industrial Design Engineering, you can say that I always had a knack for designing and creating. I developed a deeply rooted love for both crochet and knitting, pretty soon after learning these crafts. When I also tackled spinning, I found that my own yarn also deserved my own patterns, hence me designing them myself. With that I opened the gates to many more ideas to translate into fabric.

You can find Susanne online writing and self-publishing knitting and crocheting designs on her website or on her designer page on Ravelry. Make sure to follow her Instagram page for news on upcoming designs!

Born and raised up in Barcelona in a family of German and Spanish roots I have been nourished by both cultures and traditions in my childhood. I always loved the contact to nature and have been very creative. I studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and moved to Mallorca after meeting a handsome sailor who was going to be my husband and father of our two daughters Maya and Julia.
