Folk motif dimensions: 59 stitches and 118 rows (29, 5 cm wide and 38 cm tall).
Finish topside with knitting the seed stitch for 2.5 cm and bind off.
Wash the knitted pillow case and block it. After it is dry, fold it with the “wrong” side facing out and hand stitch along the 2 sides adjacent to the folded one. Hand stitch the zipper onto the linen bands. Attach the linen bands to the opening of the pillow case.
Tips: how to adjust the pattern for a particular size pillow (e.g., 50 cm wide and 40 cm tall)
Calculate how many stitches to cast on:
Formula, based on gauge Elena yarn: (desired cm)*20/10 = 50*20/10 = 100 stitches
Knit the back side in seed stitch for 40 cm.
Topside: knit with seed stitch (40cm – 38 cm)/2 = 2 cm /2 = 1 cm.
Knit the folk motif section. Adjust seed stitch sides as follows: (100 stitches – 59 stitches)/2 = 41/2. 20 stitches before the folk motif and 21 stitches after.
End topside with 1 cm seed stitch.
